{"id":42696,"date":"2021-08-30T16:15:18","date_gmt":"2021-08-30T21:15:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/boletin.com.mx\/?p=42696"},"modified":"2021-08-30T16:15:18","modified_gmt":"2021-08-30T21:15:18","slug":"procesadores-amd-epyc-impulsaran-la-supercomputadora-polaris","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/imprentaedicom.mx\/boletin2023\/2021\/08\/30\/procesadores-amd-epyc-impulsaran-la-supercomputadora-polaris\/","title":{"rendered":"Procesadores AMD EPYC impulsar\u00e1n la supercomputadora Polaris"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Polaris optimizar\u00e1 con AMD EPYC proyectos de IA, ingenier\u00eda y an\u00e1lisis del Laboratorio Nacional de Argonne del Departamento de Energ\u00eda de los Estados Unidos.<\/em><\/h5>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>AMD<\/strong> dio a conocer que el Laboratorio Nacional Argonne (Argonne), perteneciente al <strong>Departamento de Energ\u00eda de los Estados Unidos<\/strong> (DOE), seleccion\u00f3 a los procesadores <a href=\"https:\/\/boletin.com.mx\/tecnologias\/conectividad\/amd-epyc-impulsan-soluciones-de-almacenamiento-de-hpe\/\"><strong>AMD EPYC<\/strong><\/a> para impulsar una nueva supercomputadora llamada <strong>Polaris<\/strong> que adem\u00e1s preparar\u00e1 a los investigadores para Aurora, la pr\u00f3xima supercomputadora a exaescala en <strong>Argonne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Polaris est\u00e1 construida por <a href=\"https:\/\/boletin.com.mx\/industria-tic\/hpe-mexico-refuerza-su-estrategia-2021-de-apoyo-a-los-canales\/\"><strong>Hewlett Packard Enterprise<\/strong><\/a> (HPE) y utilizar\u00e1 Procesadores <strong>AMD EPYC<\/strong> de 2\u00aa generaci\u00f3n para posteriormente actualizarse al Procesador AMD EPYC de 3\u00aa generaci\u00f3n. Adem\u00e1s, esta supercomputadora permitir\u00e1 a los cient\u00edficos y desarrolladores probar y optimizar c\u00f3digos de software y aplicaciones para abordar una gama de proyectos de inteligencia artificial, ingenier\u00eda y cient\u00edficos.<\/p>\n<p>De acuerdo con <strong>Forrest Norrod, VP Senior y Director General del grupo comercial de Soluciones Integradas y Centros de Datos de AMD<\/strong>, los Procesadores de servidor AMD EPYC siguen siendo la opci\u00f3n l\u00edder para la investigaci\u00f3n moderna de c\u00f3mputo de alto rendimiento, ofreciendo el desempe\u00f1o y las funciones necesarias para ayudar a resolver la complejidad de los problemas que abordar\u00e1 la computaci\u00f3n a pre-exaescala y a exaescala.<\/p>\n<p>De acuerdo con el fabricante, Polaris utilizar\u00e1 los procesadores <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amd.com\/es\/products\/epyc-7000-series\">AMD EPYC<\/a> 7532<\/strong> y <strong>EPYC 7543,<\/strong> y las <strong>GPU NVIDIA A100 Tensor Core<\/strong>, para ofrecer aproximadamente <strong>44 petaflops<\/strong> de rendimiento m\u00e1ximo, de doble precisi\u00f3n, que es 4 veces m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido que el superordenador actual de Argonne.<\/p>\n<p>Inicialmente, Polaris ser\u00e1 utilizado por equipos de investigaci\u00f3n que participar\u00e1n en iniciativas como el <strong>Proyecto de Computaci\u00f3n a Exaescala del DOE<\/strong> y el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anl.gov\/\"><strong>Programa de Ciencia Temprana del Centro de Computaci\u00f3n de liderazgo de Argonne<\/strong><\/a>. Las comunidades de usuarios dentro del Proyecto de Computaci\u00f3n a Exaescala del DOE tambi\u00e9n utilizar\u00e1n Polaris para optimizar las tareas de ingenier\u00eda para la pr\u00f3xima supercomputadora a exaescala de Argonne, que incluye el escalado de sistemas combinados habilitados para CPU y GPU, y la integraci\u00f3n de flujos de trabajo que combinan modelado, simulaci\u00f3n, IA y otros componentes intensivos en datos.<\/p>\n<p>Polaris est\u00e1 programada para ser entregada e instalada en agosto de 2021 y <strong>entrar\u00e1 en uso a partir de principios de 2022<\/strong>.
