Las escuelas inician el nuevo a\u00f1o escolar 2020-2021 en un entorno totalmente virtual. En M\u00e9xico, 200,000 escuelas p\u00fablicas que brindan educaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica y 1.2 millones de maestros se preparan para comenzar el aprendizaje a distancia mientras dan la bienvenida a los nuevos estudiantes que est\u00e1n migrando de escuelas privadas a escuelas p\u00fablicas como parte de la estrategia Aprende en casa II<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Siempre que las organizaciones e instituciones se enfrentan a un cambio en la forma en que se accede a los activos y a los datos, se pueden generar preocupaciones sobre el riesgo cibern\u00e9tico. Desafortunadamente, las estad\u00edsticas muestran que algunos atacantes han visto la pandemia como una ventana de oportunidad para atacar a las organizaciones.<\/p>\n

Un estudio reciente de Forrester Consulting<\/strong> encargado por Tenable<\/strong> encontr\u00f3 que el 41% de los tomadores de decisiones globales en varios sectores informaron que sus organizaciones hab\u00edan experimentado al menos un ciberataque relacionado con COVID-19<\/strong> con impacto comercial en el \u00faltimo a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n

Luis Isselin, Country Manager de Tenable en M\u00e9xico,<\/strong> comenta que los ciberdelincuentes ven al sector educativo como un objetivo porque las escuelas poseen datos personales valiosos. A medida que m\u00e1s escuelas de educaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica dependen de plataformas web y aplicaciones para facilitar el aprendizaje remoto, son cada vez m\u00e1s vulnerables a los ataques.<\/p>\n

\u201cEl aprendizaje remoto crea una serie de desaf\u00edos de seguridad para las escuelas, los estudiantes y los profesores. Ampl\u00eda enormemente la superficie de ataque y, sin la visibilidad y el conocimiento adecuados, puede crear enormes puntos ciegos de seguridad\u201d, dijo.<\/em><\/p>\n

Para ayudar a reducir el riesgo cibern\u00e9tico, Tenable<\/a> propone las siguientes cuatro t\u00e1cticas para que las escuelas mejoren r\u00e1pidamente su postura de seguridad:<\/p>\n

  1. Tener una visi\u00f3n integral de los activos<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Con el aumento del uso de dispositivos personales y la afluencia de matr\u00edculas en las escuelas de educaci\u00f3n b\u00e1sica, es fundamental tener una visi\u00f3n completa de d\u00f3nde viven los activos. Sin una visibilidad completa de \u00e9stos, el personal de seguridad no tiene forma de ver y, en \u00faltima instancia, de mitigar el riesgo.<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Adoptar pr\u00e1cticas de gesti\u00f3n de vulnerabilidades basadas en riesgos<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Esto significa monitorear para identificar y priorizar las vulnerabilidades que tienen m\u00e1s probabilidades de ser explotadas por un atacante. De esta manera, pueden dedicar recursos a las vulnerabilidades que deben abordarse primero y que representan el mayor riesgo para la instituci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

      1. Aprovechar las soluciones de aplicaciones web<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Las escuelas pueden beneficiarse enormemente al aprovechar las soluciones dedicadas a proteger las aplicaciones web de uso com\u00fan. Estas soluciones deben proporcionar un contexto de seguridad y una gu\u00eda contra los usuarios de aplicaciones web de alto riesgo.<\/p>\n

        1. Seguir las pr\u00e1cticas de higiene cibern\u00e9tica<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Para reducir el riesgo cibern\u00e9tico, las escuelas deben comprometerse a parchar y actualizar sistemas y aplicaciones de manera constante, as\u00ed como a aprovechar una fuerte autenticaci\u00f3n.
