La creciente tendencia de implementar medios de comunicaci\u00f3n para elementos como telefon\u00eda sobre IP o videollamadas implica una saturaci\u00f3n de red que ha tenido como alternativa al cable coaxial o los radioenlaces. Sin embargo, la fibra \u00f3ptica para estar perfilando de manera m\u00e1s \u00f3ptima estos requerimientos.<\/p>\n<p>Para ello, se requiere de los transceivers o transceptores de Fibra \u00d3ptica, pues por medio de estos dispositivos, utilizando cable de fibra \u00f3ptica, es posible interconectar dos switches a distancias de hasta 10Km, logrando velocidades de hasta 10 Gigabytes por segundo.<\/p>\n<p>En dicho tenor, Linksys introdujo al mercado mexicano Transceivers de 1G y 10G, disponibles en los switches Linksys de la serie LGS300 y LGS500 \u2013 arriba de los 18 puertos.<\/p>\n<p>El transceiver Linksys, es un dispositivo que se utiliza para enviar y recibir informaci\u00f3n \u00f3ptica, cuenta con 2 extremos, uno para conectar el cable de fibra \u00f3ptica y otro para conectar al switch, convirtiendo una se\u00f1al el\u00e9ctrica a pulsos de luz o viceversa para viajar por medio del cable de fibra \u00f3ptica. Los transceptores se conectan a los puertos mini-GBIC\/SFP del switch, mismos que permiten transmisiones de datos de 1 y 10 Gigabytes por segundo.
